Political Kids Get Engaged

Want to convince the powers-that-be that school should start an hour later so we can catch up on sleep after staying up late surfing YouTube — er, I mean come to school refreshed and ready to learn? Well, maybe we can. The people at Generation Engage set up local debates and discussions between young people and political leaders and then share them with the rest of us. Check out their stash of videoconferences.

The group was started by political kids Devin and Adrian Talbott, sons of Brookings Institution President Strobe Talbott, as well as Justin Rockefeller, son of Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV (D-W.Va.). Check out this photo of young Talbott (still single, but his older brother Devin's married) and young Rockefeller (sorry, taken, got married last fall to a Princeton friend). The organization's headquarters are in Adrian's garage at 2800 Calvert Street, NW, Washington, D.C. Oh, and the stunning Cate Edwards, our favorite Urbanista and daughter of Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, happens to be on the board of Generation Engage.

Here's my question: how do you get on the list for one of their parties?
